Fermionic Symmetries: Extension of the two to one Relationship Between the Spectra of Even-Even and Neighbouring Odd mass Nuclei
In the single j shell there is a two to one relationship between the spectra
of certain even-even and neighbouring odd mass nuclei e.g. the calculated
energy levels of J=0^+ states in ^{44}Ti are at twice the energies of
corresponding levels in ^{43}Ti(^{43}Sc) with J=j=7/2. Here an approximate
extension of the relationship is made by adopting a truncated seniority scheme
i.e. for ^{46}Ti and ^{45}Sc we get the relationship if we do not allow the
seniority v=4 states to mix with the v=0 and v=2 states. Better than that, we
get very close to the two to one relationship if seniority v=4 states are
admixed perturbatively. In addition, it is shown that the higher isospin states
do not contain seniority 4 admixtures.Comment: 11 pages, RevTex file and no figures, typos added, references changed

Burnout in therapy radiographers in the United Kingdom
The 2007 UK National Radiotherapy Advisory Group (NRAG) report indicated the number and type of staff available is one of the ‘rate limiting’ steps in improving productivity in radiotherapy departments. Retaining well trained, satisfied staff, is key to meeting the objectives of the report; burnout is an important factor linked to satisfaction and attrition. Results of a survey measuring burnout in a sample of Radiation Therapists (Therapy Radiographers) are presented and considered against norms for the health sector and burnout in therapists from Canada and the US
Comment on "Evidence for Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay"
We comment on the recent claim for the experimental observation of
neutrinoless double-beta decay. We discuss several limitations in the analysis
provided in that paper and conclude that there is no basis for the presented
claim.Comment: A comment written to Modern Physics Letters A. 4 pages, no figures.

The future of enterprise groupware applications
This paper provides a review of groupware technology and products. The purpose of this review is to investigate the appropriateness of current groupware technology as the basis for future enterprise systems and evaluate its role in realising, the currently emerging, Virtual Enterprise model for business organisation. It also identifies in which way current technological phenomena will transform groupware technology and will drive the development of the enterprise systems of the future
Measurement of the solar neutrino capture rate with gallium metal
The solar neutrino capture rate measured by the Russian-American Gallium
Experiment (SAGE) on metallic gallium during the period January 1990 through
December 1997 is 67.2 (+7.2-7.0) (+3.5-3.0) SNU, where the uncertainties are
statistical and systematic, respectively. This represents only about half of
the predicted Standard Solar Model rate of 129 SNU. All the experimental
procedures, including extraction of germanium from gallium, counting of 71Ge,
and data analysis are discussed in detail.Comment: 34 pages including 14 figures, Revtex, slightly shortene
Contamination Control and Assay Results for the Majorana Demonstrator Ultra Clean Components
The MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR is a neutrinoless double beta decay experiment
utilizing enriched Ge-76 detectors in 2 separate modules inside of a common
solid shield at the Sanford Underground Research Facility. The DEMONSTRATOR has
utilized world leading assay sensitivities to develop clean materials and
processes for producing ultra-pure copper and plastic components. This
experiment is now operating, and initial data provide new insights into the
success of cleaning and processing. Post production copper assays after the
completion of Module 1 showed an increase in U and Th contamination in finished
parts compared to starting bulk material. A revised cleaning method and
additional round of surface contamination studies prior to Module 2
construction have provided evidence that more rigorous process control can
reduce surface contamination. This article describes the assay results and
discuss further studies to take advantage of assay capabilities for the purpose
of maintaining ultra clean fabrication and process design.Comment: Proceedings of Low Radioactivity Techniques (LRT May 2017, Seoul
The Majorana Project
Building a \BBz experiment with the ability to probe neutrino mass in the
inverted hierarchy region requires the combination of a large detector mass
sensitive to \BBz, on the order of 1-tonne, and unprecedented background
levels, on the order of or less than 1 count per year in the \BBz signal
region. The MAJORANA Collaboration proposes a design based on using high-purity
enriched Ge-76 crystals deployed in ultra-low background electroformed Cu
cryostats and using modern analysis techniques that should be capable of
reaching the required sensitivity while also being scalable to a 1-tonne size.
To demonstrate feasibility, the collaboration plans to construct a prototype
system, the MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR, consisting of 30 kg of 86% enriched \Ge-76
detectors and 30 kg of natural or isotope-76-depleted Ge detectors. We plan to
deploy and evaluate two different Ge detector technologies, one based on a
p-type configuration and the other on n-type.Comment: paper submitted for the 2008 Carolina International Symposium on
